I Respect Honesty and Integrity

A broken promise is not only a lie. It is a sign of bad character.

Sorry if you've been hurt there.

A lie is also bad character, but your point is still quite powerful.
People who lie say, everyone lies. I don't. I do remember the last time I lied, exact moment. I've never lied since, and I discovered honestly is not only scary, it is incredibly powerful. It has cost me some money (my integrity is worth more than the money), but won me complete intimacy with another human being. Not quite ever possible if you aren't honest.

@Abstraction i agree lies are bad character too. :) . Good to hear you chose honesty . I would rather be hurt than be lied to.

@CheerfullyCurious When you choose honesty you think twice about everything you do. Cos... there's nowhere to hide. But when you say something meaningful it's 20 times more powerful.
And if you're known for who you are, you are truly loved. If you aren't honest, you're left with... yeah but if you really knew me...

@Abstraction that is very true. I also believe if you make a promise over and over to someone then at least you give it your best effort to keep that promise. Selfish people often make promises to get their way And then they justify breaking them for selfish reasons again.

@CheerfullyCurious The one talk I made sure I had with my daughter was, how to pick a decent guy. She did!
Trust is an infinitely fragile, infinitely beautiful thing. It should be treated as a sacred object.

@Abstraction i believe trust is earned . Glad she found a decent guy and listened to daddy’s advice.

@CheerfullyCurious trust is earnt, yes, agree.

And my advice was about how to see someone's character, because good intentions from shallow people are hard to trust in the long run. I think I wrote up my advice to my daughter here somewhere.
