Often, not always, but often I've seen women accused of extreme/toxic feminism simply because they offered their opinion, or simply, but clearly and with conviction, offered a answer to a question.

ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
I find when people accuse me of any extreme it's because they're already at their extreme and that changes they way they view everything.

But I also believe there wouldn't be a need for toxic feminism if there wasn't already toxic masculinity, which we all know has been happening for hundreds of years and to varying degrees from culture to culture.

Being men and women is the only thing that really separates us humans. That contrast is often a beautiful thing, but exploited at times by each of us.

I also stand for equality and forever feel the push back, always by, sorry but, white males. They're usually the ones who have a problem with equality, thinking it takes from them. If it takes from them they have too much. They have generations of entitlement behind them, so there's no getting through to them.

As men and women, we have different needs and all should be respected.

@ScreamingFox the only points on which we don't agree are

"hundreds of years" - I would say THOUSANDS of years

and "white males" - that is more visible in the US because white males control the politics and economy - but TMM exists and has through cultures and time periods.

I'm not proud of any of it.

I'm very dissapointed with this war of the sexes. I thought it was over, I thought we moved away from this nonsense. I see an increasing amount of hate from both men and women and I find it concerning. Like politics, I believe the internet algorithms are polarizing the sexes too.
No sex should be vilified. I personally believe there is not a huge difference between men and women; we are all just people.
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@JimboSaturn possibly, but there has been a huge man movement of misogyny, blaming women for everything wrong in their lives. It started with incels and has been continued with men who follow Andrew Tate, Nick Fuentes and a few others. These are loud voices that have brought a lot of men to their worse possible characteristics.

So, no, it hasn't been over and we haven't moved on, sadly.

@JimboSaturn I would agree with you. 30 years ago, there was a lot less of what is going on today. Honestly, a lot of the stuff I see today makes me want to stay single. It seems for the best.
"toxic feminism" isn’t feminism at all. It’s misandry. But you’re absolutely right. For those used to privilege, equality feels like oppression.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
I thought we were finally headed in the right direction, equality, then a re-election proved me very wrong.

Well stated
Alyosha · 36-40, M
I notice the people most vocal about feminism's being "equality" are often least versed in its theory.
@Alyosha Those of us who remember the inception of feminism know that equality is what it was about.

Because we also remember how things were before.

It’s the people trying to call it something else now, who weren’t around then. 🤨

@bijouxbroussard I find it very disturbing when women use the word feminism as if it's a bad word. They have no idea what things were like before. Again the younger generation just doesn't understand.
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@JimboSaturn yeah, I don't get that either. Today's feminism works towards equality and equity for all, not just women. Why would anyone think that was a bad thing?
Pretzel · 70-79, M
"out of the heart's abundance the mouth speaks"

maybe those that see toxicity....can't get past what they have in the soul?
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@Pretzel I am of course willing to self reflect to see if this person's statement is true because that is what one should do when presented with something negative.

I just don't know where I have expressed toxicity in a feminist fashion. I'm sure I've done so in other areas.
meJess · F
The problem is that equitable is a difficult word for those desperate to hang on to any shred if advantage.
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@meJess Truth.

Some people are not thinking too clearly . .

That's a charge that some already label the new Archbishop of Canterbury with
