For brown and black folks here..

If you are watching say a movie with ensemble cast .. whom do you associate with more deeply? Do you associate more with the white cast or with the PoC cast ?
I ask this keeping two things in mind
1) Both of them have layers . They have stories that resonate with your lives . Guilt grief joy all of it .
2) Keep a non judgemental and kind perspective.

Today as I was watching The series BEAR .. i realised how much I was unconsciously resonating with the white cast more than the black cast .. like skipping the black people story plots .. but as I stopped and dived deeper I realised I am very much like Sydney.. a bold little impatient yet decisive young black girl.

When it comes to characters, appearence only constitutes half of what a character is.

The other half a character is the the words they say, the thoughts they think and the deeds they perform.
