@HannahSky I didn't see it as abuse. I was always pushing the boundaries. One time, my mom bakes a chocolate cake. It was for my father's birthday and she had invited friends for dinner. I saw that cake and took a chunk of it after being told not to touch it. She was mad. She was still mad when my father blew off the candles. She glared at me from across the table. It's strange that she always comes to mind whenever I get that impulse to test boundaries.

@HannahSky Do you see kids as victims? There was a bunch of them - in Singapore - who keyed expensive cars and even threw bricks on them. They were nabbed by the police and sentence to whipping (in accordance to Bristish-inspired penal code). Clinton tried to intervene on behalf of an American kid who probably was the bad influence in the group. He was nevertheless whipped but with lesser number of strokes than his Asian partners-in crime. Each stroke of the cane split the skin on his bare backside. I am glad it my mom who trashed me when I was four.

@Really The western perspective is an intellectual mindset not rooted in reality. The bond between mother and child is a sacred one. Maternal instinct is a gift from God. When a woman has that, she can do no wrong. I never felt any resentment when I was chastised by my mom. I was always pushing her buttons.
