Why do people think its "human nature " to be dog eat dog

The dog eat dog World metaphor is to point out that we live in a competitive World. It's nature for any animal to have to compete with it's own kind to survive.

@Guitarman123 I'm agreeable to team work and competition both being a factor in survival. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
