Are most people unknowingly playing the role of following the crowd?

Are most people unknowingly playing the role of following the crowd? Are most people unknowingly easily lead? Do most people rely on confirmation bias rather than the facts and truth which just might conflict with their point of view? Do many uninformed citizens become really angry when somebody points out to them an uncomfortable fact and or truth? Do most people voraciously read/view many different news sources?

How many people are willing to stand up and defend their principles today? Do most US citizens know the rule of law and their rights given to them by the Creator and which are clearly pointed out by the US Constitution.

How many people today are willing to change their stance/opinion when confronted with overwhelming factual evidence?

How many people today believe in true freedom of speech? How many people are comfortable with censoring information that is not to their liking?

How many minds/souls have been corrupted by MSM propaganda?

Let's all face the grim reality that human beings feel the need to be socially accepted and clinging to the majority view or popular crowd is the norm today. Very few people are now settling for an existence rather than walk that difficult path seeking the truth.

We are all influenced by different people and many forms of news. It's up to each individual to look in the mirror and feel what they are taking in daily is really true. All I ever really expect of people is to be open to different things and different sources of news. There is helpful information out there if your willing to research and discern all the information you take in.

Logic, critical thinking and common sense are the vital elements in realizing if something is factual or not. We all must seek the truth, no matter how painful it becomes. The truth is what sets us free. Being skeptical can be a good thing, however being skeptical about information that scares you or doesn't confirm one's own confirmation bias can lead us down the wrong path.

Yeah I do believe so, people have been told what to do for years, I’ve never followed the crowd, never followed fashion, i always found it strange why everyone would want to go around wearing the same latest fashion fad, handbag etc.

@Fairydust Agreed totally. For me to wear clothes with NIKE written on the, NIKE would have to pay me a fortune to do their advertising for them

A very good question.

Although the religious elements don't mean much to me other than my knowing many people believe them, that text and set of quotes makes some very important points.

There is a very strong ovine tendency among humans - we are after all herd animals - but we also have an intellect that allows us to pass over some of our instincts. The problem is whether we as individuals allow it do so .

Interesting to compare and contrast Orwell and Huxley's points of view, for I think both sets of their suggestions have come about to a large extent.

@PoeticPlay Excellent questions. The answers are all out there. Easily accessible if you get past the "fact-checker" barrier.

That is, treat the "fact-checkers" as well-paid "opinion-givers" who toe the official line by twisting the truth, and READ THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY.

Read the research and writings of tens of thousands of scientists and intellectuals who disagree, who have seen through the wole shebang, who are not taken in by it.

Let me know if you want good addresses. There are many many of them.
