Kiss My Ass: I'm No Gen X

I may be Gen X by birth, but not in my soul. My heart and soul lie with the Silent Generation.

Raised on the philosophy that work is a duty, not a lifestyle choice, I learned early that "child labor laws" were just suggestions in a world that needed getting done. While my birth year says I should crave work life balance and question authority, my spirit resonates with the Traditionalist values of loyalty, discipline, and relentless endurance.

At near 60, I’m still outworking people 40 years younger. In construction and farming, we don’t clock out when it gets hard; we clock out when it’s done. To the young ones thinking a 12 hour day with one break is cruel, to people like us - it’s character building.

As the song says, I’m Back in the Saddle - calling the shots, loaded and ready. Gender doesn’t matter; grit does. If you can’t handle the heat, don’t step onto my job site - cause I'm going to make you hurt.

Actually she died a few years ago. She was 18 years old was was giving to us from a neighboring family that lost their mom and couldn't take care of the donkey. Her name was Daisy, my daughter fell in love with her.

If you were a Gen Z you'd probably be into yoga and would be able to kiss your own ass. 😉
