I very much think it was better back in the day, for me it’s the 80’s and 90’s. I really miss the simpler times before internet and cell phones.

I was born in 1948,and in my very young years grew up - as I can see now - under the long shadow cast by the greatest conflict in human history.Parents of those of my age-group had been children during the Depression and young adults during World War 2,so the potential for a "generation gap" of sorts with those who grew up in the more affluent '50s and '60s,was always going to be there.

Im guessing you are gen z? There is no need to be mad at other generations thats fingerpointing he said she said does not solve the issue I was born in 1994 so im sure my generation is all kinds of messed up but I take responsibility for what I can do in life.

Yeah, I'm born late 1964 and definitely feel like Gen X as do most of my cohort.
Whereas those who were just a couple of years ahead of me or more at school seem far more Boomer-ish.

@TheThinker My husband was born in 1962, technically a boomer, but he was more like the generation X crowd.
TheThinker · 61-69, M
@Justmeraeagain Yeah, there's definitely a blurred line there where the generations cross over.
I'd say maybe it was to do with the age of the parents, except that mine were born in the early 1920s...

I may have been born a Generation Y child, (1986) But I'm self-identifying as a Generation X child.
Astrologically, I'm a Virgo (Western Zodiac) and a Tiger. (Chinese Zodiac)
According to the Japanese calendar, my full birthdate is the 27th day of the 8th month of the 61st year of the Shōwa period.

@Sidewinder never heard of generation Y, I was born in 87, perhaps that's the concept, we're a generation none ever heard from lol
I'm also a Virgo and a rabbit.
What about the Japanese though I've no idea

@Boeing The Japanese Impereal calendar is based on the year of the reigning Emperor.
And the years 1926 to 1989 were known as the Shōwa Period. (Emperor Hirohito's reign)
Hirohito's death on January 7th, 1989 marked the end of the Shōwa Period.
When Hirohito's son, Akihito succeeded his late Father as Emperor that became the beginning of the Heisei Period (1989-2019)
Right now, the year is Reiwa 8. (the 8th year of Emperor Naruhito's reign, following Emperor Akihito's abdication)

I was born in 1988 so I'm a millennial but I always liked the vibe of gen x. I feel like they by far are the coolest generation.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F

I'll go on record saying I like millennials and I don't understand why people are hating on you guys.
Both my children are millennials -1992 and 1993

I’m among the "latter day" boomers (1960) and my youngest sister is Gen X (1974).

I think "me" is a boring subject, frankly.
I have never seen such a me generation as we have now and it might be traced back to some elements of Gen X, I do not know.

-Generation Y. (1981-1996)
-Generation Z. (1997-2012)
-Generation Alpha. (2013-Present)

I think of myself as a sarcastic gen xer that mostly fits in her category, but I also know nothing fits across the board for completely for anyone.

I am a late boomer, 1961. Both of my parents grew up during the Great Depression and lived through WWII.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Justmeraeagain Exactly! My dad said he never ate in a restaurant until he was 18 and had his first real job. He always remembered it. It was Spaghetti.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F

@Justmeraeagain My dad said one year during the depression times were so bad his parents hired a grown man to work on the farm for room and board. No pay.
