Thinking about the Generations...

I have never been mad at boomers or millennials and think all generations have their good points and their bad points .
Later boomers(1960's) are closer to the ideals and upbringing of gen X , then millennials seem to be and not saying that is a bad thing.
This really isn't a lets bash the other generation posts.

Just an observation,really.
As to why GenX generally likes to hang out with other GenX?
I think, it is because we were raised on sarcasm and banter so, we are not as sensitive about it,I think we thrive on it.
The later generations seem to be more adverse to this type of expression.
I don't advocate really hateful mean spirited crap, but when Gen X is comfortable enough with another GenX bantering doesn't hurt our feelings, usually.

We also share a special time in history a time of no internet, cell phones, or social media in our teens, but by our 30's we embraced it all.
There was good and bad things bout this generation just like all the rest.
I would argue we tend to be apathetic at times, but we can joke about it,so that is something.
And just like the older boomer generation we have a hard time understanding the younger generations point of view at times.

I think up to the 40's everyone just kind of lived together without thoughts about the different generations, although there were some distinctions which eventually exploded by 60's, but started in earnest with the rock and roll generation of the 50's and created a deeper divide between child and parents.

Depending which group you belong to you will have feelings of nostalgia and a belief things were better back in the day.
We all heard it from our boomer or ww2 parents.
I know, I think things were better back in the day and I hear millennials lament the same thing.
This change seems to take place as we and our children age.

I may have been born a Generation Y child, (1986) But I'm self-identifying as a Generation X child.

Astrologically, I'm a Virgo (Western Zodiac) and a Tiger. (Chinese Zodiac)

According to the Japanese calendar, my full birthdate is the 27th day of the 8th month of the 61st year of the Shōwa period.

@Boeing The Japanese Impereal calendar is based on the year of the reigning Emperor.

And the years 1926 to 1989 were known as the Shōwa Period. (Emperor Hirohito's reign)

Hirohito's death on January 7th, 1989 marked the end of the Shōwa Period.

When Hirohito's son, Akihito succeeded his late Father as Emperor that became the beginning of the Heisei Period (1989-2019)

Right now, the year is Reiwa 8. (the 8th year of Emperor Naruhito's reign, following Emperor Akihito's abdication)
