The hormonal changes around our periods can make us more emotional certain days each month. There are more factors I'm sure, but that's a big one.

The feminine can be as alive in a man as it is in a woman. It is not about being physically male or female. The feminine is a certain quality. The masculine also is a certain quality. Only when these two qualities happen in balance within a human being, can a human being live a life of fulfillment.

Men have been socialized into thinking that showing emotion isn't okay.

Not necessarily we all experience emotions but there are cultural and social differences in how we deal with them.
Men being told not to cry or be vulnerable leads to a toxic personality for example. Repressive social norms are the problem.
When it's about personality and the way we experience and express emotions there is not one "nature" that’s stupid.
Gender Roles belong in the dustbin of history.

We have exemptions- we can cry at tragic news to do with family, tragic events pertaining to serious events, etc.
But do not cry as a man if you've had a stessful day or got punched, etc. As my dad would say "Ya great big poof" 😂

Women express their feelings more than men which can help them deal with their emotions. Most men keep it more to themselves but show their aggressive and angry side when provoked/upset/pissed.

Generalizations based upon sex are problematic because of factors like individualism, age, upbringing, different cultural norms. Some women come from cultures that allow women to express their emotions more openly than men.
Even then, it’s not necessarily all emotions. Some women are raised to believe that expressing anger is "unfeminine", for example.

- if you want to get to know women, treat them as individual people.
We aren't a 'species' to be studied and generalized....each one of us is a person..

Not at all. Women are more capable of controlling their emotions. Most likely due to sheer practice in a cyclic need to regulate them.
Men are more emotional as they have no such practice and are expected by society to be emotionless automatons. So they have no emotional outlet either.
If you need evidence just look at any horny male on here and their single minded desperation to breed.
