I Am Fascinated By Human Behavior

Why do some men put up with bitchy, mean women? I can see why women put up with abusive men. Women are under a lot more pressure to be part of a couple, plus men are bigger, stronger, and more intimidating than women. It's more dangerous for women to stand up to men. I've never understood men who put up with abuse.

I don't think you understand the dynamic. Abusive men pick women that are dependent on them financially (little or no education), have lower self esteem, etc. They may also have children. it's almost impossible for them to leave. Most men when they pick someone fail to see the traits of that person until it's too late. The honeymoon period. If not married, they will leave. If married, they stand to lose financially in a significant way. So they bide their time until it's bad enough to take the risk. I speak from the abusive wife experience on this one.
