I was going to give some smart ass response, but truth is men have the same fears as women when it comes to abuse,

Why would one be any more "understandable" than the other ?
Men are pressured to couple, too. In some cultures more than others.
Not all men are big. Not all women are petite.
Men ARE likely to be more embarrassed to complain or report it to authorities.
Just like with women, men love their partners and may want to work things out.
Stereotypes cut both ways.

I don't think you understand the dynamic. Abusive men pick women that are dependent on them financially (little or no education), have lower self esteem, etc. They may also have children. it's almost impossible for them to leave. Most men when they pick someone fail to see the traits of that person until it's too late. The honeymoon period. If not married, they will leave. If married, they stand to lose financially in a significant way. So they bide their time until it's bad enough to take the risk. I speak from the abusive wife experience on this one.

Your statement seems contradictory to me. So if men are stronger, and women are weaker....well you stated the obvious.

For the same reason girls and women put up with hot jerk disk heads I guess.. They wanna be "loved" by them
