(By that SW rumor mill logic, Craiglist would've shut down many years ago, and the official excuses EP made in that archived statement above haven't stopped SW or any other smaller social site from complying with new regulations.)

@ThirstenHowl I’m aware that that one incident didn’t prompt EP’s closure, but I remember when it happened. EP wasn’t a dating site either, but anywhere people connect, things happen. I was just speculating whether or not it could’ve been a factor in SW also not being set up specifically as a dating site.

Seriously though, I've come across a couple that I suspected, did some digging and yes, it does happen that people use fake photos. I think the admins go on the volume of reports rather than the demonstrable dishonesty of a profile. Then, they might stick a warning on the profile...

It is entirely possible that there is a real female behind that account. The only way to know would be to video conference and ask them to do something in realtime. Most likely they would never video conference and after you try a few times they would block or ghost you.
