Every Child Warm

@SunshineGirl Yes, it's nice that there are some people out there thinking of the less fortunate... but it still bothers me that we live in a world where the "Richest" nations can't afford to pay people enough so that families can sit around the table/breakfast bar and have a bowl of cereal or two slices of toast before they leave to go to work/school.

Why can't we at least make sure that people have the means to afford these basic items at home rather than running "Breakfast clubs" so that the poorest of the poor don't end up attracting even more attention just trying to eat a meal???

It just feels backwards and nonsensical to me that we're now sending children as young as two years old to school and ensuring that they have even less time at home with their family... something isn't right.

@HootyTheNightOwl You put the funding where there is most demand and it is likely to have greatest social impact. If mum and dad have to work shifts and travel long distances to work, no amount largesse in child benefit is going to restore the family breakfast. All that matters is that child is warm, fed and safe. It's no bad thing if a society rallies to ensure no one is left behind.
