Earlier I read an article about LUCA, the single tiny organism from which all life on earth has come to be... an organism thought to have evolved shortly after the Earth formed.
Curious as to what the comments on the article had to say, I found the following as the second comment (with many upvotes).
I'm not easily surprised by the depth of ignorance and stupidity found among my countrymen, but this one... yeah, how in the he!! does this nut case connect the idea of reparations with an article on how life developed billions of years ago?
Worse yet, others were agreeing with him.
We are doomed.

I’ve posted this before but it’s becoming more and more relevant every day. Very scary indeed. Intelligence being overrun by ignorance. Fact being overrun by fiction. Common sense being overrun by the absurd.
