Anyone else lose all hope in humanity?

Adam Johnson (the hockey player whose neck was slashed) was what sent me spinning down the rabbit hole. I can't even say why. Maybe because my son played hockey or maybe (and I am thinking more accurately) what a senseless loss of a beautiful human. I must get out of this spiral though easier said than done.

There are certainly times when I pound my puny fists on the ground and cry *^%^&$!!! what next, humanity?!? geez,folks-get a clue! But as I'm unfamiliar with this incident, this is not hitting home for me. I'm hoping your negativity is burst unexpectedly and something amazing is around the corner.
I like hockey.
Metal blades on ice? Intense.
Full contact blood sport? Check.
I see the appeal.
On a rare occasion a professional dies doing it. A pity, but also a big part of the primal appeal of this sport to our savage nature. I've met too many serious crime victims and perpetrators for this to even raise my blood pressure much.I do feel bad for his survivors, and do appreciate your post.

@Mikla Cheers. I've been going through trying times, but I can always find gratitude.
Earlier today I was venting about stresses and stuff to a houseguest and followed it up with...
'yeah, but I'm looking out that window at a meandering river framed by redwood forest-and not in an active warzone...so there's that at least...'
