Why or why not? If not, what do we base values on? Think deep peeps!

They can be very subjective

@dark548fromEP: Follow up question: who decides what is right? Is there a moral code?

@RayKyler: in the U.S. the law and culture passed through generations which has been influenced by Christian thought. In the caveman days I'm not too sure.

If the law creates right and wrong, there can be no 'bad' law. If the culture does, there can be no culture which does wrong (including human sacrifice). So the question is, in the caveman days, was there any morals? I mean, were they human enough to have them? We certainly don't judge animals, so maybe not

@RayKyler: back to what I had intially said. They can be very subjective and differ from culture to culture. Some morals can be universal though like don't murder. I'm pretty sure even cave men couldn't agree with murder, as it went against survival instict.

@dark548fromEP: So cannablistic cultures are not wrong for eating people?

@RayKyler: in our eyes yes in theirs I suppose no. Reality and nature seem to be pretty neutral and indifferent to human societies. Natural disasters pick no favorites 🤔

However this is all in my opinion.

@dark548fromEP: Hmm, I find your ideas most intriguing. While I may disagree, I found our conversation most enjoyable

@RayKyler: what do you disagree with? and no problem food for thought 👌

@dark548fromEP: Personally, I believe that there is a moral code written into the fabric of the universe. This code is universal and unchanging. That's why, as humans, we so quickly make moral judgements. When we see someone abuse a child, we think "That's wrong", and we believe that is wrong all the time, for everyone.

@RayKyler: hmm 🤔 that is very interesting
