@dark548fromEP: Personally, I believe that there is a moral code written into the fabric of the universe. This code is universal and unchanging. That's why, as humans, we so quickly make moral judgements. When we see someone abuse a child, we think "That's wrong", and we believe that is wrong all the time, for everyone.

Mostly subjective and situational. It is right to kill to protect your family from a violent armed burglar as an example.

One might argue that not murdering and killing to protect your family are compatible absolute values. Perhaps different behavior is appropriate in different situations, but the underlying values are constant?
