Does veganism actually save animals?

Animal farming is such a huge large scale industry
Do a few vegans even cause a dent in that process?
If the vegan doesn't eat it, the meat eater will, right? Won't it die anyway?

Farming vegetables/grains on a larger scale will not restore habitats.
To really make an impact of any kind on the environment become a forager. Hunt over-populations of species (moderately) , protect diminishing populations and preserve habitats by not clearing them of anything but dead materials.
All else is just social clubs.
