What would you say to someone who

Becomes friendly with the client and has a bad day if the client's job was not done, and who gets sad because the client is sad?
SW-User
thats fucking me...and that's why I quit that job. Took everything to heart . Not worth it
Simonsrk · 46-50, M
@SW-User it's really not worth it. At all. Sending all the best X

Back up and get some professional distance... fast!
Heretodaygonetomorrow · 26-30, F
@Simonsrk I won't repeat this again. But with this one, we have become close friends and... it's too late with him but I won't repeat this with anyone else ever.
firefall · 61-69, M
someone over-identifying, I think. Being friendly is good, being concerned to deliver sure, but getting sad because they're sad sounds concerning
Heretodaygonetomorrow · 26-30, F
@firefall that's right. This person is a friend now. I won't let anyone else into my personal space again. But this guy will remain a friend. That's why I want his work to get done fast so I won't have to balance work and friendship
KaiserSolze · 46-50, F
He knows how to get people working hard for him? He's a sociopath?!! You've fallen in love with him? - There's loads of options...
Heretodaygonetomorrow · 26-30, F
@KaiserSolze nah. He is a sweet guy who needs Mr to get some important work done. We're also of the same age and we get along well.

They're a conscientious worker but should be aware of burnout.
