Why do adults feel the need to be dishonest?

What purpose does it serve to lie? Why are some adults completely unable to take accountability for their decisions and choices and say them?

I don't understand the purpose of lying.

To err (lie, cheat, steal, backstab, ad infinitum) is human, after all.

@rinkydinkydoink Lying isn't an error. It is a deliberate decision.
@FoxyGoddess

What does the Bible mean when it says to err is human?
It has become a proverbial phrase used often to reflect the human tendency to sin and the divine character to forgive. In other words, human beings commit sins and make mistakes. God forgives us, and we are acting in a Godlike (divine) way when we forgive. The phrase has biblical roots.

Also -

One of the Ten Commandments is "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour"; for this reason, lying is generally considered as a sin in Christianity. The story of Naboth in 1 Kings 21 provides an example where false witness leads to an unjust outcome.

@rinkydinkydoink That's great, if you follow the Bible. I treat it like fiction with a few good ideas. 🤷‍♀
@FoxyGoddess

There goes my "argument" - the Bible is all hooey to me, too.

EDIT - a good deal of it is hooey.

@rinkydinkydoink Sorry I ruined your build up. You can still post your argument. There are a few Christians who follow me. 😅
