What would u do if your door bell rang and it was dark outside?

Answer the door, obviously. Are you a toddler?

I don't go to the door unless I know who it is and it's someone I like. Which means I almost never go to the door.

If they were knocking, I knew they were coming. If it's dark out, I'm not opening the door unless I know they're coming.

Would assume it was one of my neighbors as I live in a pretty safe neighborhood

I'd put the chain on first but I'd want to find out who it was.

Amazon delivery man has been known to knock on the door late. Door to door sellers as well although I’ve usually clocked them before they get to mine as I watch them knock on my neighbours first.

Turn on the porch light and look out the peephole in the door, then decide whether to open it, call the cops, or just let the 120-pound pit bull bark at the door.

I beg to differ. I absolutely can pretend I’m not at home. lol There is a camera. If I don’t know them I generally don’t answer. If my husband’s home he nearly always answers regardless. Twice he’s given someone a ride home. Braver than me lol

i was raised to never answer the door and someone knocking/ringing the bell triggers my flight response in the most ridiculous way no matter the time of day. 3pm and someone knocks the door i am on the floor or skedaddling to my room lol. my roommate leaves the lights on when we're sleeping or not in the house so that doesn't even matter

if there's any reason for us to be talking you'd be on my phone not my doorstep

I'd look at the camera pic that is already in my notifications on my phone from the doorbell camera and decide if whoever it is is worth getting up off the couch for. ;)

I dont answer the door for strangers. Doesnt matter if my lights or on or not.

Answer it if I can be bothered to. If I can't then I'll just ignore it. I have a doorbell camera and high mounted CCTV so I can see who it is anyway.

I would just ignore it if it wasn't someone I knew.
It is most likely someone I didn't want to talk too anyway.
