I haven't seen a whole lot. But so far I like the original series better than anything else I've seen
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M
The only one I like is Star Trek the Next Generation.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@SleepingWithGhosts thanks, I'll check it out. Other people recommended it too

Definitely start with the original series, and the early movies
froggtongue · M
Maybe look up trailers for the shows and movies and see which ones pique your interest. If you like serialized, then Deep Space Nine, Disocvery, or Strange New Worlds will be to your liking. If episodic, the older stuff is made that way. Maybe to wet your whistle go with the J. J. Abrams movies which are the more recent ones.
Whatever you decide I hope you enjoy.

Just start with the original series and work your way through in chronological order.. It should keep you busy for the rest of your life LOLZ 😄

From what I've seen ...it's meh ...I tried to get into it but I found it boring to watch ...I prefer star wars
froggtongue · M
@cherny which series did you watch or try to watch? You might go with the newer stuff. Strange New Worlds is popular. If you want more zainy stuff then go with Lower Decks. It's like they made Rick and Morty as a Star Trek show on that one.

The original so you can understand what's going on in every other series. It's all sequential.
OG - Next Gen - DS9 should be the start.

@Magicianzini But the Enterprise series takes place before TOS. I would start there.
sarabee1995 · 31-35, F
Omg... You've never seen any of it??
Okay so at this point I would just start with the in-universe time line.
Watch Enterprise first.

@Straylight Where would you start?
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
The original series is a must. Then Next Gen.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M

@whowasthatmaskedman what movie would u recommend me to start with? I probably won't watch all the content, since there is so much of it
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Dan193 My personal recommendation to connect a lot of dots is "Star Trek Generations." 1994. A good place to see a lot...😷
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@whowasthatmaskedman thanks
@froggtongue You might be able to help with this?

Start with the Original Star Trek with Kirk and Spock. Followed by the 6 movies. Star Trek 1: The Motion Picture. Will be a bit hard to understand if you haven't seen the series. Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan is phenomenal.
After you watch the 6, then The Next Generation, then the rest of the films. Deep Space Nine and Voyager.
(Gets a little confusing as DS9 was on air halfway into the TNG run time and the occasionally crossover. And a couple of the later films reference that) (Voyager also started somewhere halfway through DS9 but only crosses over with them in the first episode.)
The 4 shows made recently, (Is all being made from the same production company, I think they are trying to do too much at once and are having endless production issues. Hopefully they will have sorted all that out by the time you get through the original) ST; Strange New Worlds is prequel to the Original series. ST: Discovery is a spinoff of the prequal. ST: Lower Decks, is amazing if your a Star trek nerd. ST Academy, haven't seen.

I say start with the oroginal. It's goofy sure, but you'll have more appreciation for the later series. There are episodes in later series which referenced the original.(not many though)
Barefooter25 · 46-50, M
Start with the original Star Trek and go up until Voyager. The movies from 1979-2002 are good and some are ok. My advice, avoid Nu Trek.
val70 · 56-60
To ease you into it go for Star Trek the Next Generation.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
Start with the original and next generation. After that I don't have any recommendations. Some of the series they did much later are actually pretty sickening to look at.
