has anyone here done Ozempic or the like?

Top | New | Old
I have friends and relatives on it for diabetes, and weight loss. Nausea seems to be the side effect starting out, and varies per person. They've found the benefits to sugar control, and weight management quite impressive, though.
@SethGreene531 that is interesting. what are the varying side effects? how much did they lose.
@LILY61 Just nausea so far as I know. A family friend lost 50 LBS over the last year. Now off insulin.
@SethGreene531 that doesn't sound too bad

I am under a doctor's care and take weekly self-injections of Mounjaro...I am a type II diabetic and my A1C has gone from 9.3 to 5.6 and I have lost significant weight but also combined with diet and exercise.
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
@LILY61 70 lbs but gained 15 back when I went off the strict diet
@Corporalcolleague how strict is the diet?
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
@LILY61 it truly wasn't bad...reduced calories, smaller portions, higher in protein. Weekly weigh-ins. The program provided all of the food, to be honest most of it was commercially available.

Hell no. 3+ years ago I cut out carbs and sugar. I dropped 40 lbs in three months. Anyone can do it. The weight loss for women is a little slower, but you’ll still see amazing results.

I haven’t gained back a single pound (now). I eat what I want and exercise daily. It’s not “Can you do it?” That’s easy. It’s simply, “Will you commit?”

@LILY61 If you love to cook, cook food that’s healthy. Again, cut carbs and sugar even in your ingredients.

Also, buy either an elliptical or a treadmill. Use it daily starting with just 15 minutes. Within no time you’ll upgrade yourself to 30 minutes. That’ll do the trick. Once you’re comfortable, then you can push the pace to get that heart rate up.

Do not eat between meals. Do not eat later in the evening. Pass on the snacks too.

It’ll work ❤💪🏻
@Adogslife i have owned alot of equipment for exercising...they make great dryers and comforter holders. i hated using them
@Adogslife I invented my own diet two years ago and lost 31 lbs. in 4 months.
I call it the Progressive diet.
The first week i gave up chocolate, second week i gave up salty snacks and stayed off the chocolate, third week i gave up pasta and stayed off chocolate and salty snacks and kept going like that...

No. Those diabetic medications aren't as safe as they lead you to believe - there can be some pretty serious side effects. Please do your own research before you decide to go ahead with the treatment or not.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@LadyBronte I heard.

I take Ozempic. I can't tell if it has helped all that much, as I've had trouble using it consistently at the proper dose.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@LILY61 Hasn't helped so far.
@DunningKruger how long do they suggest you stay on it before giving up?
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@LILY61 The doctor seems fine with the way things are at the moment.
Secretsmile · 51-55, F
I was just thinking about that. I’m not sure of the safety of these products. I need to lose about 30 pounds.🤔
@Secretsmile 40lbs here

Someone I know did Ozempic, pretty bad results.
Don’t go for it.

And don’t easily fall for the words when someone says ‘it’s FDA approved’.
@Bleak The FDA means nothing...i agree, but what happened to the person you knew that did Ozempic?
markinkansas · 61-69, M

My father started taking it recently and it's no fun for him. I really don't understand how he rather takes that shit instead of dieting.
@CrazyMusicLover i am like that always
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@LILY61 Is it because of some diagnosis?
@CrazyMusicLover i was severely abused as a child and after. my stomach is really screwed up
markinkansas · 61-69, M

I take Ozempic. What would you like to know?
@Musicman what side effects did you have? Did you just lose all interest in eating? how long before you lost the weight ? then what happens after you lose the weight?
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@LILY61 I take it because I am pre diabetic. It really brought my A1C blood sugar numbers back in line. Because I am pre diabetic now I also had to change my diet and exercise more so I am not sure how much weight I have lost due to Ozempic alone. In the past three quarters of a year, that's how long I have taken it, I have lost 38 pounds. Over the holidays I had a good time and put 4 pounds back on. The effects are not the same every day. Some days I have my normal appetite and other days I only want one meal a day. As for side effects, it binds you up. Not going for two of three days becomes normal. Sometimes I have to take something to help me go to the bathroom. I didn't have to before. Ozempic is an injection and it's into your stomach.
@Musicman that sounds like alot. congrats on your weight loss
