The loss of my children
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Wintertime2024 oh I’m sorry that’s a hard one.

You are going to think I am just saying this, because sometimes she reads my stuff on here, and I don't care that she does. That's besides the point.

This is the honest truth, with no bullshiting or kidding around like I always do.

Meeting my second wife. She changed me in more ways then one.

She take me for me, I don't have to hide in closet to wear what I want.
She loves my kids as if they were her own and same goes for me with her kids.
I never met another women in my entire life that does what does for me.

Because of her I change my whole view on living (Hope that don't come out wrong). She put the spark in my life.

We have been together since forever & then some and every day we still say "I LOVE YOU" & kiss each other.

@HumanEarth awe.. that’s amazing.
HumanEarth · F

Probably war in Ukraine. Until then war was something I perceived as something I saw in movies, read in books, learned about in history classes, heard from grandma's stories and it seemed like something far away that doesn't directly concern me...after this event I acknowledged the fact that war could be a real threat in my life and places I've always known as safe could simply become ruins. Just a few years back it would seem like something absurd but now it seems like a real possibility.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@CrazyMusicLover yes war must be the scariest thing to live within, around or be part of..
both my parents deaths...
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@beermeplease yes, my stepfather died last year, my own dad has weeks left if we’re lucky. I’ve still got my mum.🤗
@Primnproper sorry to hear that about your dad. take good care of your mom....but that goes without saying
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@beermeplease yes I know.. it’s hard as I moved away from my home town but I still see them.
OldBrit · 61-69, M

Probably the pandemic.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@SubstantialKick yes I imagine that affected many. It was a very scary time.
SubstantialKick · 36-40, M
@Primnproper The hardest part was the fact that it was beyond our control until we could come up with a weapon to battle the virus.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@SubstantialKick I know.. I guess that’s the first time I thought about death taking me early being possible..even though it can happen anytime.
ABCDEF7 · M
My first brain surgery.
Primnproper · 56-60, F

Livingwell · 61-69, M
@Degbeme That was the greatest times (x2) of my life.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@Livingwell Exactly. Makes you have a new outlook on life.
Early in life: onset of clinical depression when I entered college

Later in life: brutal death of loved ones
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@OlderSometimesWiser yes all can have devastating affects on us.
@Primnproper And they most certainly have.
Primnproper · 56-60, F

wildbill83 · 41-45, M
war, friends dying, being betrayed, etc.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@wildbill83 yep that would certainly do it.
Watching all my nieces and nephews grow up. It seemed like yesterday that I was helping to raise them. Cute as buttons very quickly became teenage menaces
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@DrScissorhands Time does fly by as we get older.
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
A lot of them. The biggest was becoming chronically ill and disabled at 22 though.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@thepreposterouspanda yes I found it hard accepting my limitations and until you do you can’t progress forward.
blackarcher256 · 61-69, M

iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Awful events in my childhood
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@iamonfire696 yep they stay with us.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Primnproper they sure do
My paternal grandmother and uncle heinously betraying me over money, then lying to the entire family about it. I just recently found out my aunt's second husband used his law enforcement connections to get the police record over what happened, read how the cops cleared me, tried clearing my name with the family, and was forced out himself. My grandmother croaked last january at the age of 96, and didn't even bother trying to reach out to ask for forgiveness while dying of cancer.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@NativePortlander1970 oh I’m so sorry you got treated so badly..
@Primnproper If my Dad and Grandfather would have still been alive when it happened they would have been devastated
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@NativePortlander1970 families can be cruel.
