To What Degree Have You Actually Controlled The Course Your Life Has Taken?

A lot of it.

I react badly compared to others.

But, then again, I was built and raised different.

However, I chose my path.

So, it makes sense.

I have controlled most of it. Many times I have taken Yogi Berra's advice: "When you come to a fork in the road, take it."

That's such an interesting question. There are so many things that none of us can control--from the circumstances we were born into, to the events of the world around us. to the actions of those we know and love. I have been very fortunate in most ways, but also unfortunate in some difficult ones. I can't control that, but I can control how I respond to the situations I'm in and the opportunities I have. So that's how I focus my efforts and my attitude. "Play the hand you're dealt" as the poker saying goes. Or "You might as well be a mensch", as my grandmother used to say.

We have some control,but not everything is within our control.
There can be a fine line between accepting our own decisions consequences and being in despair over it.
Going forward and not letting the past dictate the now,I believe,would be the most useful of lessons if life has not been what someone wishes it was.

I have been good at deciding, taking action and most importantly, realizing and accepting the things that I had no control over, which I think should be considered as part of controlling my life .. 🌸🌸

I married my husband, chose not to divorce him, and went to college and quit work. But my son was sick so I felt I had no choice but to take care of him - not that I didn't want to.

It’s just been trying to avoid the potholes but falling into in the muddy ditches.

I think we all have some control but not a lot. What country your born in, how much wealth your parents had, the genes you inheriet from them all drastiically affect your life but you don't have control over it.

But some of it, like how you do at your job, how your act at home, your health habits do impact your life outcome and in some ways it is sad to people squander those opportunies.

Pretty minimally. A lot of stuff has happened that has been completely out of my control and it has affected my life in ways that are extremely difficult if not impossible to work through.

Very small, i realized i have people watching over me from the other side death. Everything I have accomplished is because something wanted me to.
