To What Degree Have You Actually Controlled The Course Your Life Has Taken?

That's such an interesting question. There are so many things that none of us can control--from the circumstances we were born into, to the events of the world around us. to the actions of those we know and love. I have been very fortunate in most ways, but also unfortunate in some difficult ones. I can't control that, but I can control how I respond to the situations I'm in and the opportunities I have. So that's how I focus my efforts and my attitude. "Play the hand you're dealt" as the poker saying goes. Or "You might as well be a mensch", as my grandmother used to say.
