@Really I stumbled onto him while listening to a PBS station while driving through Arkansas about 25 years ago, stopped at the next town and asked if they had John Prine CDs. The did, just one. It was Prine's very first one from the 1970s. Until then I had never really paid attention to lyrics, or even the melodies. It was all kind of like background music. Prine brought it to the foreground.
