I think it’s all about timing when people are on, or the various groups they are subscribed too.

Just wait seven days.
Sevendays · M
@SW-User nah, it is pretty consistent with some people who's posts I respond to.
SW-User
@Sevendays then not sure what to say. Personally I stop interacting with them if that’s what my goal was. But generally I just reply and move on. If it was funny and they didn’t get it, so be it.
joe438 · 61-69, M
@SW-User (it was. I got it)

Blondily · F
I'm so sorry to hear that.
Some of my replies are ignored too so you're not the only one.
If you ever replied to any of my questions Im sure I gave you a reply back. I'm pretty good about that. Every answer is appreciated.
Sevendays · M
@Blondily thanks
Adogslife · 61-69, M
Don’t fret. It’s not complicated here. Boobs get responses. It’s not personal. There are some really nice women that get quite a bit of activity. It’s simply not the same for men.

Keep the kindness meter high and the expectations low. It makes the activity on the site easier to digest as a man.

Again, it’s not personal at all. 👍🏻
joe438 · 61-69, M
I'm kind of the same way. There are people who raise questions where it's fun to participate in a conversation so I reply to those. Some people I just don't reply to because the conversation won't be useful. In some cases, I see a good point (like yours) and ig I have something to add, I will.

To be fair, the replies tend to be on the original post and not on the other replies. It's a rare post that has a long thread of replying to replies where the conversation is improving the condition of the world in some way.

So that said, "yep".
Sevendays · M
@joe438 just like the real world I guess
joe438 · 61-69, M
@Sevendays what’s the protocol for agreeing without the word “yep”?

We can definitely agree on that.
Sevendays · M
@joe438 yep
Matt85 · 36-40, M
its probably a curse. ask Jesus to break it.
Sevendays · M
@Matt85 Amen!
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
I'm sorry if I've done that. It gets hard to keep track of posts and replies because of the algorithm. I'll get a butt load of replies to a four day old post and it doesn't display chronologically. I look back months later and notice replies I missed.
Sevendays · M
@AlchemyFox it isn't you AF. No worries.
Jill1990 · 31-35, F
Good morning - I think the posts that get the most responses are controversial or sexual. I don’t like drama so I’ll be looking for the latter.
Sevendays · M
@Jill1990 good choice!
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Hi Lee

As others have said, don't take it personally. You have some good posts and ask open ended questions. You seem like a sincere dude so I will try to reply to your posts if I have something relevant to say.

And hey...if you want attention, you could always make a post on a controversial political topic and take a stand...people will flock from all over to either support you or attack you....
Sevendays · M
@SumKindaMunster thanks! I don't want attention, just interaction.

No politics for me.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Sevendays Understood.
Musicman · 61-69, M
Sadly I understand. What I have noticed is one of my posts will go an hour or two with no replies then let one popular person reply and all of a sudden my post lights up with replies. ☹️
Sevendays · M
@Musicman I've observed the same thing
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Sevendays Why can't people just respond to a post??? 🤷‍♂️ I definitely don't respond just because someone else did. I respond because I like the post.
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
@Musicman @Sevendays Sometimes that's because of the algorithm, I have my "Custom" stream set to see more of my friends replies as a result I often see a question that didn't appear in either my "New" or "Home" streams simply because a friend has commented on it.
CestManan · 46-50, F
I been here for four years and it is mostly the same.
Didn't used to be like that, I guess some of us just get "algorithm'ed" to the back of the line.

It is a good thing ultimately, I am now more focused on my language practice app where I can actually learn stuff.
Kstrong · 56-60, F
@CestManan keep it up
Fluffybull · F
Well, you've had 137 views on this post. I'm lucky if mine get 5 🤣😂😂🤣😂
Sevendays · M
@Fluffybull there are tons of posts that I do not see.
Fluffybull · F
@Sevendays I try to alter settings to see friends' posts but it makes little difference 🤷
Sevendays · M
@Fluffybull I thought of trying that too but thought it might just mess things up more.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
My posts don't get much engagement either. I don't know how great I am at replying to comments on my posts for that matter. 🙃
Sevendays · M
@Starcrossed I guess it is what it is.
Kstrong · 56-60, F
Im sorry that you've been treated that way....
Sevendays · M
@Kstrong no worries. It was more an observation of people, not a "poor me" type of post.
Kstrong · 56-60, F
@Sevendays I've noticed the same. Have developed a close circle of friends that I know support me here
Sevendays · M
@Kstrong I guess it reflects life in general
Kstrong · 56-60, F
Keep posting, being true to yourself
Sevendays · M
@Kstrong that's my plan.
DDonde · 31-35, M
The algorithm sucks. Howdy
Sevendays · M
@DDonde I agree. When I look at how many people are logged on at any given time I realize that there have to be a lot of posts that I never see.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
The algorithm plays a part and sexual posts and women get more replies unfortunately.
swirlie · 31-35, F
I think what substitutes for open dialogue on this website is the unprecedented use of the 'heart' button. Instead of people responding with the same dialogue you offered when answering one of their questions, if they reply to you at all, 99% of the time they will offer a cursory push of their heart button as their formal acknowledgment of what you have posted to THEIR thread.

If I owned this website, the very first modification I would make would be to eliminate the option of sending hearts in place of written dialogue. I would rather nobody respond to my posts at all, than to receive a plethora of goddamn hearts.
Sevendays · M
@swirlie it is in the mail. Don't forget to check your mail every day.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@Sevendays
Hey! That's my line!
Sevendays · M
@swirlie Or I can run up a tab. Your choice.
