Why are there so many Catfish here lately?

@Ontheroad that’s crazy, my friend is on tinder and bumble and she said there’s lots of catfish on those apps too. I taught her how to search them out.

@zonavar68 very possible... a good 75% or so are Chinese and all in their 20s.

@iamonfire696 I have a foolproof method. If I haven't had online open forum conversations with someone, then I ignore and block... especially with the young ones.

I use that here too.

@Ontheroad I stopped using nextdoor a few months ago. Too many fake accounts and fake posts. Lost all credibility

@OldBrit I agree, it was once a place where only real neighbors got together, but they've stopped checking and limiting those who join and it's all too commercial and filled with fake accounts.

@iamonfire696 it's a social website that was supposed to bring neighborhoods and communities together. It started out to do just that, but as with all social websites, things have gotten a bit out of hand.

@LeopoldBloom Taht's the way it started out, but through changes in management, things have gotten sloppy on the verification of members at enrollment .
