If I truly knew someone was catfishing on internet and had some way to show that, I'd be reporting them since they won't stop at one person. Other than that, this site is filling with lots of posts about others and yet never any names for people to watch out for.... for me, it's easier to just not be here much anymore... and not get involved.

@SW-User I think often times it is just to get attention they can't seem to get otherwise, others it might be to feed a fetish, or they get a kick out of messing with other peoples feelings.

I am quite happy chatting with someone who i don't know what they look like, i also get why people hide who they are, but to use someone elses oicture/identity is a worry

@SW-User i have been friends with people.herr for years, i do not know what they look lime or their name. I respect their right to anonymity. At least they are not misleading or lying they way catfish do
