Can we compare right-wing reaction to the Black Lives Matter movement to left-wing reaction to the current Gaza War?

The Gaza War has simply added fuel to an existing fire of growing anti-Semitism. Anti-Semitism was already on the rise for several years before the Gaza War. “When violent conflicts occur in the Middle East, there are those in the U.S. that exploit these horrifying events to inflame antisemitism." It's as if the reality of Israel's military assault on Gaza has only boosted the anti-Semites' fantasy of the evil Jew.

It's the way racists reacted to BLM in 2020. For right-wingers in the U.S. BLM only fueled the fire of pre-existing racism.

"[Statistical analysis of Twitter posts] reveals differences in how different political groups talk about BLM. Most notably, the murder of George Floyd appears to have solidified a right-wing counter-framing of protests as arising from dangerous 'terrorist' actors."

Compare: Hamas' murder of 1400 Israelis on October 7 appears to have solidified a left-wing counter-framing of the subsequent Gaza War as arising from the "dangerous genocidal government" of Israel.

BLM had some problems for moderate Dems like myself I.e., rationalizing looting, defund the police, antisemitism, and actual grift.

@MethDozer Oh definitely don’t think that…

@Bumbles think what?

In some ways we can. Just like Conservatives and Pro-police who believed George Floyds’ death was justified, the same can be said for Liberals who are pro-Palestine or pro-hamas activists who thought the same way about the deaths of Israelis. Another good similarity I’ve noticed are people tearing down posters of kidnapped Israelis and international citizens to that of Conservatives who tore down posters that showed support of BLM and victims of police brutality. Even down to coming up with bs excuses for why they did so.

I was indifferent to both so I suppose it’s the same 🙃
I don’t see it as comparable, for a few reasons:

Israel as it now exists was established by the British as a homeland for Jewish refugees fleeing the Holocaust.

While antisemites may criticize Israel, too, criticizing the things Israel has done wrong isn’t the same as antisemitism.

BLM was established in response to the continued murders of unarmed black citizens.

While anti-black racists disparage BLM and fear any protest in the name of civil rights for African Americans, it is not racist to criticize mistakes BLM has made.

But:
Israel is a sovereign nation, which makes its own laws, and has the power of life and death over all who live there.

BLM has no real power, and has even been classified as a "terrorist organization" (by former president Donald Trump).
@bijouxbroussard That's very good. Thanks.

Being against an apartheid state that keeps extending it's defined borders isn't anti-Semitic or pro Hamas.

@MethDozer Okay, but you posted those facts. I suppose you think your post is irrelevant.

@flipper1966 Nice diversion to create a false illusion of anti-Semitism. Jews≠isreal
@MethDozer Trying to be funny. I see your main thrust is economic not stereotyping.
