Can we compare right-wing reaction to the Black Lives Matter movement to left-wing reaction to the current Gaza War?

The Gaza War has simply added fuel to an existing fire of growing anti-Semitism. Anti-Semitism was already on the rise for several years before the Gaza War. “When violent conflicts occur in the Middle East, there are those in the U.S. that exploit these horrifying events to inflame antisemitism." It's as if the reality of Israel's military assault on Gaza has only boosted the anti-Semites' fantasy of the evil Jew.

It's the way racists reacted to BLM in 2020. For right-wingers in the U.S. BLM only fueled the fire of pre-existing racism.

"[Statistical analysis of Twitter posts] reveals differences in how different political groups talk about BLM. Most notably, the murder of George Floyd appears to have solidified a right-wing counter-framing of protests as arising from dangerous 'terrorist' actors."

Compare: Hamas' murder of 1400 Israelis on October 7 appears to have solidified a left-wing counter-framing of the subsequent Gaza War as arising from the "dangerous genocidal government" of Israel.

Being against an apartheid state that keeps extending it's defined borders isn't anti-Semitic or pro Hamas.
@MethDozer Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. What happened?

@MethDozer As I said, Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. Your comment doesn't dispute that. The UN Partition Plan envisioned a Jewish state and an Arab state. The Arabs rejected that. The day after Israel declared independence in 1948, several Arab countries invaded Israel. Israel won the war and gobbled up even more land. Ever hear the expression, quit while you're ahead?

@flipper1966 They had no right to expand.

@MethDozer In 1917 the area is question is misleading because the land was at times referred to as “Palestine” as a geographic designation. Jews were even referred to as Palestinian Jews. World War 1 saw the transition of the area controlled by the Ottoman Empire to being administered by Britain.

Further, the 1948 map is misleading because the partition plan wasn’t accepted by the Arabs.

Prior to 1967 The West Bank was Jordanian and Gaza, Egyptian.
@MethDozer You lose a war that you start, you lose land. Again: the Arabs never heard the expression, quit while you're ahead.

The Palestinians had a good chance at having an independent state during the Clinton Administration. Yassir Arafat scuttled that. Again, quit while you're ahead.

@Bumbles All irrelevant.

The fact remains Israel has expanded far beyond what they were supposed to have and keeps taking more out of greed. Their claims are totally bogus

@MethDozer I don’t consider facts irrelevant, especially when they are being used to prove a point. If you want to discuss the settlements, then I agree they should not have happened. The other items I discussed are important unless one simply prefers the propaganda value.
Folks been sayin' that for years. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

@Bumbles It's a fact that Water is wet but in the current topic that fact is irrelevant.

Facts can still be irrelevant.
@Bumbles Israel needs to demolish the settlements. The settlements are despicable. The arrogance of the settlers is despicable.
@Bumbles Jews are greedy!! Ever hear that one? 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

@flipper1966 Once or twice!
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@MethDozer Okay, but you posted those facts. I suppose you think your post is irrelevant.

@flipper1966 Nice diversion to create a false illusion of anti-Semitism. Jews≠isreal
@MethDozer Trying to be funny. I see your main thrust is economic not stereotyping.
