This has been my whole damn life! I see something someone would like - I get it for them. It's my way of saying that I saw something and it made me think of them. I found that snow globe, mug, book, whatever and it reminded me that you are important in my life and I want to share that with you. Thousands of dollars of things and do any of these people ever, EVER, get me anything - nope. I did buy my aunt a book once and she wrote me a thank you note. My Mom was so jealous she was Kermit the Frog green with envy. That thank you note meant more than anything she could have gotten me.

Exactly. You look after number one. I say this because once people know you`re an easy mark, they`ll keep doing it.

You have to take care of you and do what is best for your mental health.

Stick to it

@averageguy I’m really going to try. I do have one person I always show up for, no matter what… and if I’m honest, she doesn’t show up for me the same way. I know I need to set better boundaries there. It’s hard though- my name is Charity and I’ve definitely lived up to it a little too well lol. But I hear you.
