Young people don't know how to write cursive handwriting.

They actually don't know how to sign their own name. Cursive is going to become like a secret code for old people.

My daughter, nephews and nieces attend three different schools. All of them have been taught to write cursive and they can do it better than me with my arthritic fingers.

I don't know why this "young people can't write cursive" thing keeps springing up. There is no evidence for it 🤷‍♀

People don't how to write English from 1200. They might be able to make some guesses reading it. But if we go to 800 then that requires specialty education.

Cursive handwriting is a vestigial remnant. It's not super useful so it is gradually withering away generation over generation as we make room for more relevant knowledge and ability.

Secret club, are you going to join up?

@meJess And there's me thinking all this time that cursive writing was when you give free rein to your swearing 🙂

@Hasmita it’s when your spelling becomes weaponised
all they have to do is leave their pen on the paper between each letter, what's wrong with these kids

i also don't know how to write cursive

@jshm2 The tech we know now may go away one day. We all might need to learn how to shoe a horse, and other old skills. Until then, I will continue to write in cursive smoothly with a marvelous long hand.
