I love that Conservative men (who normally see feminism as 'cultural marxism') suddenly become concerned about protecting women's spaces to an almost non-existent threat when it comes to the trans issue.
Also, these dudes suddenly believe in 'science' and are surely big-time experts on that.

@Burnley123 Haha "science" 😏
SarahAndSamantha · 51-55, T
@Burnley123 At least we brought some awareness to women's sports. One is glad to be of service
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@Burnley123 well, most won’t take the Bible’s word for validating the male and female anatomy and why they are uniquely different and have seperate purposes and functions down to the dna..🧬

@Heavenlywarrior No, I don't take the Bible's word on science.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@Burnley123 science and Nature compliment each other and can prove through consensus on what a natural functioning man is.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@Burnley123 just what I thought , and many don’t take the Bible or any spiritual text as validation worthy.
SarahAndSamantha · 51-55, T
@Heavenlywarrior because the bible, regardless of whether or not it is right or wrong about god, is factually incorrect on many scientific subjects.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Heavenlywarrior I'm non religious but I don't have a problem with religious people.
What I do have an issue with is when people interpret religious texts in a way that leads them to do harm to other people.
Interpretation is the thing because almost no religious people interpret every word of their religion's texts literally. To do so would be impossible because there are so many contractions. Turn the other cheek, Old Testament God.
I doubt that you want to stone homosexuals to death. Well maybe you do but I'm sure you do do have issues with Jesus being a pacifist socialist. Jesus was far too woke for even me.

@SarahAndSamantha it may be factually incorrect on certain things but it’s is also right on many things.

@Heavenlywarrior in fairness, the things it gets wrong are pretty dang big. Age of the earth, how many days it took god to create the universe, the order in which things were created.

@Heavenlywarrior Not sure a book that says women come from rib bones should be taken seriously about the nature of anything.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@SarahAndSamantha it says that in man is the breath of life. Is that wrong ? Seems very accurate
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow true but the thing about it is not all of it is wrong. Or meant to be interpreted as literal. A lot of it is symbolic and allegory.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@Heavenlywarrior Even if I gave you that. If you know anything about the understanding of what passed as "medicine" 3000 years ago you would want to leave that firmly in the past.
SarahAndSamantha · 51-55, T
@Heavenlywarrior wow, it (slightly more poetically) says that humans are ALIVE! let's replace all scientific textbooks with the bible!!! lol
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@SarahAndSamantha that’s one simple truth of many. Trust me you not ready I can go on especially in this topic … you might want to walk away from this topic. I won’t let up.
SarahAndSamantha · 51-55, T
@Heavenlywarrior you're right, I do want to walk away. I've heard it all before. grew up in a church myself. you'll bring nothing I haven't heard before.
but what you're doing is the equivalent of me saying "wood comes from trees. that's true so when I say I can make a brand new universe populated with goblins, bunnies and goblin bunnies out of a jar of peanut butter, it MUST be true"

@SarahAndSamantha how about this….
Before you go….
Why does the placebo effect work for some and not others?

@Heavenlywarrior quirk of humanity that we don't fully understand. Let me guess, you're answer is "gee, Davy, do you think it was god?"
truly sincerely forgive me if my assumption of your answer is wrong

Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@SarahAndSamantha thank you for your honest answer in this case..
Yes … a quirk. Its expectation. Or as the Bible would say “Faith”

SarahAndSamantha · 51-55, T
@Heavenlywarrior not strawmanning here, just making sure I understand your point. "Placebo effect works, therefore god." am I right in that?
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@SarahAndSamantha yes.
SarahAndSamantha · 51-55, T
@Heavenlywarrior then I counter with "placebo effect works, therefore the Force." just as valid. Or Odin. Or "a wizard did it". Or "My new universe filled with goblins and bunnies and goblin bunnies."
Or, more valid than any of those "Placebo effect works..and we don't understand why. Maybe someday we will. but this doesn't make the bible a scientific work that proves anything."
Also, claiming the placebo effect as some kind of proof of god is more against your side anyway, considering what the placebo effect is. basically, attributing an effect to something that isn't actually there.
