What was affordable 30 years ago, that only rich people can now afford?

Oh yeah red meat….chuck roast with veggies was something we had once a month, ground beef was a frugal meat for a meal, chuck steaks were inexpensive to cook with. A big pot of chili was affordable back then and could use leftovers with rice or dip etc. The price of beef is getting so expensive that even buffets are limiting how much they put out. Went to the casino buffet last week and they only put out a small amount at a time and said that’s all there was so people wouldn’t hog it. I didn’t see any other red meat meals, it was pork, chicken, turkey and cheap fish. They used to serve grilled steaks and prime rib pretty often and large portions at that.
