What was affordable 30 years ago, that only rich people can now afford?

One-worker households (in the 60’s especially) with several children and having a vacation cabin on a lake. I knew families like this. Father worked, mom stayed at home. People didn’t get theirselves in credit hell back then either. They dined in restaurants very rarely then when the wives were home to cook those meals, didn’t need to pay for a babysitter or have two vehicles, etc.
