Theyve done a pretty good job so far considering how many people actually believe theres too many humans on the planet and anthropological climate change.

At least some of those wealthy types and their companies are of the one nation that for so long has seen making oodles of money from forming giant, voracious companies as epitomising Personal Success.
So it seems a bit strange seeing them criticised for it by their fellow-countrymen, in a book sold via one of that land's giant, voracious companies!
Whatever "shockingly common" really means, it seems contradicted by "tiny elite". It can't be both. Maybe Robert Frank's book, or his source study, gives the number.
More importantly is how much if any political influence they really have outside their own country. Probably not much, but they own the sorts of firms that swallow and destroy everyone else's; risking ultimately ever-narrowing choices of goods and outlets.
