Sorry, I have to disagree. There are too many people here who just want to vent their spleens and project their hate on others. There is no reasoning with such people, and I don't do conflict.
And I don't want to see other women's body parts, or read filthy perv posts. There are porn sites for that sort of thing.
I don't block without good reason, but it makes for a much more pleasant experience, removing the most nasty posts.

I disagree. VampyreKat wants to leave SW because trolls and horrible people with no manners have made her life on SW so miserable. My friend Breezybreeze left SW for the same reason. She and I still write to one another, elsewhere...and I must say that unless I had blocked all the horrible or fake people whom I have blocked, (1054 of them), I would not enjoy the SW experience either.

Each person must have their own limits, and each person is able, or unable, to tolerate negativity differently.

Sometimes you just have to block someone who is too obnoxious to have an adult conversation with and becomes quite rude.

Or we could just block new users because we are paranoid they are fakers. I say this as a not so new user but have been blocked by many regular users. Oh well.

I would re phrase that as "I just don't think anyone should HAVE TO block anyone". But unfortunately we do due to the amount of people (if you can call them that) these days who get enjoyment out of trolling people. Getting there sadistic kicks out of upsetting other people and making others unhappy.

For anyone who has been made to feel unwelcome by trolls, bullies or mockers, block is one option. For myself, I'm coming to the conclusion that leaving SW is a better solution.

I think it depend on who you're blocking. I didn't mind messages leading to interesting conversations at first, but a few spoiled that. I don't know where they get off from their abusive behaviour towards people they don't even know. I just chat through comments now.

I’ve been on here a long time and I think I’ve only blocked 2 .
Some people’s best capabilities seems to be , I don’t agree, block , I knew I was right.
That’s just my opinion.

Blocking should remain as a choice for people.
Some people harass others, so blocking becomes necessary.
Some people are annoying and you don't want to see their comments, so blocking is a good option.

I definitely disagree. I have been mercilessly attacked by trolls on here. That and the guys who think I want to see pictures of their junk or engage in wife swapping. Without the block button I would probably leave the site.
