For anyone who has been made to feel unwelcome by trolls, bullies or mockers, block is one option. For myself, I'm coming to the conclusion that leaving SW is a better solution.

@SW-User Sorry to hear you're going through that. It's pathetic how many ignorant and small-minded people derive entertainment through being abusive to strangers on the internet.

@AbbeyRhode It isn't random trolling that's driving me away though. There is just too much hate talk against older people and people with certain kinds of health issues (which apply to me).

@SW-User That's even worse. Mindlessly trolling is bad enough, but targeting and harassing people for ridiculous reasons is excessively hateful.

It's discouraging, because I came to SW only because I love to write.

@SW-User I know what you mean. I'm a caregiver, on duty pretty much round the clock, and I pop on here when I can to relax. It's a shame that some people take a great opportunity to make friends from all over the world, and socialize pleasantly with others, and instead behave like jackasses.
But there are some really lovely people here, once you get past the bad apples. I hope you find enough of them to make it worthwhile to stay.

@AbbeyRhode Thanks. I know what you mean about being a caregiver and wish you the best in that difficult job. ๐บ
I just "retired" from caregiving this year, both parents having passed away finally. I'm maybe still too burnt out to deal with the online scene right now. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
