It's hard to believe

that some deluded idiot of a "journalist" wrote this tripe and got it printed in a British national newspaper (the Mail) this week.

Even more despairing is the fact that many will swallow this utter garbage!

It would have been hilarious if not so disturbing that people ditch articles like this as garbage. Apparently the truth is too uncomfortable to accept. Haven't you noticed the change of weather for the last few years? It was almost 40 degrees celcius for a while in The Netherlands last Summer. In the Netherlands!! Every heat record has been broken recently. So perhaps no, most people won't have to work from 6-2, because our houses and company buildings will be air conditioned I'm sure, but when it comes to construction workers the time will (pretty soon) arrive when working by day in the Summer will be irresponsible.

@esmeralda I happen to have been around 5 times as long as you. Believe me, there is no "climate change". It's a religion of hysteria to keep you in fear. What there is, is "weather."
esmeralda · 18-21, F
@WalterF So sad that you never learnt to understand what's right in front of you after ALL these years...
WalterF · 70-79, M
@esmeralda Well I suppose I should bow to your superior knowledge. You obviously know better than your elders. You see "Tourists heading for hellish heatwave - death threatens!" I see " Tourists headed for a sun holiday will get exactly what they want! and if they die, then they're idiots." But of course, you and your propaganda - sorry, news - must be right. "Stay safe!" Don't let the climate kill you!

“Garbage”

The science here is crystal clear. The planet is warming rapidly as a result of human activity, and it’s going to impact all our lives. Adapting your working hours will be the least of your concerns.

@OctoberEyes Ooh, a computer model! So reliable! Reflecting exactly what the modeller wants them to find! Compare the ridiculous findings of Professor Lockdown Neil "Pantsdown" Ferguson about the hundreds of thousands of deaths from pandemics this century! Empty wind! AND YET THE GOVERNMENT AND THE PEOPLE BELIEVED HIM!
OctoberEyes · 26-30, M
@WalterF It’s not a model, it’s a reconstruction of 692 proxy systems responding to temperature changes (e.g. tree rings, coral, marine sediment), from across 49 countries.

Here’s the paper: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6675609/

Here are details regarding the 692 samples used: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5505119/

Although, you mention models; climate models can be very accurate. Here’s a study of various models dating back as far as 1970 that were found to be “indistinguishable” from what actually happened: https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1029/2019GL085378

Might be better to follow Spain and go for siestas. But for the vast mumbers of people who work, or claim to work, from home, heat or cold won’t make any difference.

@MartinII naps ate an excellent way to fight climate change. I am doing my part

@MartinII Let's sleep for the climate, friends! After all, it needs our help! It may have managed for the last few million years, but now it's struggling! Certainly not helped by the private jets and yachts of our leaders!

I mean Daily Mail is anyway a garbage bin for untalented hacks who pretend to be journalists.
Dacrowman · 70-79, M
I worked 6-2 for nearly 20 years, great in summer sh1t in winter
WalterF · 70-79, M
@Dacrowman Great in Spain. A total invention for the UK. Hogwash
Musicman · 61-69, M
Sadly these idiots fancy themselves as geniuses. 🤦‍♂️
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Musicman It takes an idiot to pull stuff out of their butt for these climate change stories
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I always thought the Daily Mail was junk. I had no idea it was a national newspaper
WalterF · 70-79, M
@Jenny1234 It belongs in the 'tabloid' bracket. Less "serious" than the 'broadsheets', but read by many
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Sounds about right with these idiots though. The harder they try to convince us the stupider they look
MasterLee · 56-60, M
1 degree sucks there eh
