I was in that position at work and I didn't need to say anything to anyone. It was pretty obvious. I wasn't favorite but there was a blatant inequality in how work was evaluated in different positions. In the end, it was the company that suffered from their own decisions because whoever got the position that was paid less despite that what they did was much more important didn't stay there for long.

With family yes, with work it would depend I wouldn't want to make that assumption unless I had hard facts. Sometimes at work people are treated differently because the bosses know something you don't etc

If it's making others feel bad I'd probably say something but usually if I'm somebody's favorite it is because I do what I'm supposed to do and more. I'm reliable and they don't feel like they have to worry when I'm around.

@SW-User I like the way you think. 😆 🤣
I am always thankful for whatever comes my way, insults or assistance but I am not into using words to acknowledge.

I've always kind of been a thorn in the side. Its what I'm good at. I wonder if theres such thing as professional hecklers?

I’ve only been in that situation once, and I transferred to a different office. The only reason the person was treating me differently was because they wanted more than a manager-subordinate relationship. 😐

Say something. Unless others are being beaten. Then say nothing. 😊
