when i was in my 20s i described someone I knew (around 50 yrs) as being middle aged and the older folk i knew chuckled at me like “isn’t that cute?…she thinks 50 is middle aged) Idk 50 plus 50 is 100 so I figured it was rather middle aged maybe even over middle age a bit considering the average lifespan still isn’t even 100…. 🤷‍♀️

the oxford dictionary defines middle aged beginning at the age of 45, up until 55.
@ravenhill hey, that's interesting. I didn't even think there would be a definition in the dictionary 🤔
Considering that average life span is now in the 80s, middle would be the 40s. Anyone over 50 who calls themselves “middle-aged” is being optimistic about living past 100. 😉
