This Parakeet, Kiwi, Is Totally Hooked On Rock Crushing Videos…

When the guys leave in the morning and I’m the only person here she starts making that noise telling me to turn the tv on to Youtube rock crushing videos. I let her watch a couple of them and then want to watch something else and she’ll start up with the noise again. I understand the sounds help her relax but now she’s addicted. She was having anxiety for about 3 months before she calmed down listening to them.

Aww 🥰 Can you post a pic of the parakeet?

@PatientlyWaiting25 I could if she doesn’t get scared of the camera. These parakeets are not that trusting when I have my phone or laptop near them and they’ll freeze up if they are talking or whatever.

@PatientlyWaiting25 Here is a picture of the rock crushing video on my tv, it is filmed in India. She is fascinated by them and so many have channels showing rock crushing because it’s easy to film with their phones and they can make money off of You Tube the easiest way I think.

@PatientlyWaiting25 she is smart enough to know what time the boy should be awake. She’ll start telling me “Are you OK” over and over till I go wake him up. That’s what the parakeets named him because he would say it so much to us and sometimes them too. The name they gave me was “Get in there” because I was the only one that would catch them when they were out, I’d put them up to the open door of their cage and say “Get in there”. Last week I was in my bedroom and slept too long but I was awake by the time Sweet Pea started chirping loudly over and over. She wanted me to get up and come into the living room. Then I heard her start saying “Get in there, Get in there” so I spoke up and told her I was in my room. Then she stopped making her chirping etc. I guess she was worried about me.

@PatientlyWaiting25 These birds are trying to look after us and help us in their own ways. I had a cat that saw me get up in a hurry because I overslept. First thing I did was call my supervisor and tell her what happened. She said “OK just get ready and come in, I’ll wait here in the office for you to clock in”. I was about 30 minutes late at the most. The next morning my cat woke me up a minute or two before my alarm clock went off. She jumped up and grabbed my foot. Later she would scratch the end of the mattress or rattle the mini-blinds after we moved to another apartment. She did it every day till she got sick and about 6 months before she died. Animals will often try to help us in their own little ways when they sense we need help.

@cherokeepatti in my teens I had epilepsy and my dog used to know when I was going to have a seizure. He wouldn't leave me alone and used to block me into a chair and bark to alert my parents. I grew out of it thank God x
