how should you respond to criticism on a youtube video

i posted a point on a youtube video, a video about peter jacksons lord of the rings films, in my point i really put the films down because to me the films really were crap....anyway, someone came back at me with a harsh criticism in their comments and attacked my point about it, verging on an insult.

how should you respond when that happens? i was quite surprised really and felt insulted.
