are ads on youtube getting worse

i saw someone make a comment on a video that they were innundated with youtube ads on the video and they were leaving youtube because of it.....are the advertisements really getting that bad now?

if they are getting worse, what's the solution to it? pay for youtube premium? i use adblockers which seem to work well, i haven't had any youtube messages to stop using my adblockers yet, asking me to disable my adblockers like some have.

It's not a figment of your imagination. Its getting super bad everywhere. An anachronism in the mivie "Minority Report", when he walked down the sidewalk, all those sensors scanned his retina and he got surrounded by targeted ads. WELL...doesnt seem so farfetched. We arent people anymore. We're just consumers. Walking, talking bar codes, inundated by one ad after another. "Ready Player One", another...80% of the users field of vision for ad space. Without inducing siezures. WONDERFUL.

Yes, they are. I remember ten years or so ago we had banner ads that were not nearly as intrusive. The video still played but you saw a transparent ad, and it was fine. Now there are midrolls every three minutes.

@durinsBane1983 You can pay for Premium, but I just use the Brave Browser that comes with an ad block.
