@NerdyPotato Exactly! A mechanism like the one Musk cancelled and tried to turn into a cash cow by selling blue checkmarks.

How happy will advertisers be to put their ads on a site where $8 gives a phony ad a chance to go viral? Musk's cash cow could bankrupt Twitter!

@ElwoodBlues advertisers are already running away en masse, so that's exactly where this is heading to at the moment. Hopefully someone will find a way to turn this around towards a system that's even better than the old one.
