“I’ll tip you on the app” yeah right 🙄

Just a heads up, “I’ll tip you on the app” is exactly the same as your mom saying “maybe” as an answer to you as a child asking “can we get ice cream on the way home”.

The fact is that 19 in 20 that say that are just paying lip service. Just don’t say it. Tip or don’t. “I’ll tip you on the app” just makes the driver think you’re a douche.

What I want to know is if the driver actually gets the tip added on the app or the website. I get Walmart grocery delivery and try to just give cash tips but occasionally add the tip online instead. Then wonder if the driver ended up getting it.

@OlderSometimesWiser I can’t say for any other app service, but at least Uber and Lyft give us 100% of all tips given on the app. I’m actually curious if the passenger gets the “thank you” note the driver can send in response.

@OlderSometimesWiser One of the few things I’ll credit Trump for is the no tax on tips thing…until 2028 there are no tax on tips for anyone making less than $12,000 in tips per year. After that, yes, cash will be preferred again.
