We Don’t Need This

Dear @Nuno, @Andrew,

Please get rid of the profile images and usernames that appear at the top of our feed.

I’m guessing others have already suggested the same thing and I want to add my voice to theirs.

I fail to see what purpose it serves to have this display of our presence here. Many of us have chosen to not have our green light enabled and this newer feature reduces the effectiveness of turning the light off.

At the very least, could we have the choice to opt-out of this, just as we do with the green light? I think that’s a reasonable compromise.

Thanks for all the effort you put into making SW a better place. I mean that sincerely, even if I don’t always agree with the changes that are implemented here.

There's lots of stuff here we don't need. It's rather like the scientists in Stranger Things, They have their reasons, even if we don't share their motivations. It's pretty much that.

@Rutterman They will justify anything; it is their site after all. Someone even found the results of a poll where we actually voted against the downvote concept...then they instituted it anyway, 'cause they could. All I know is that I will decline to participate in further polls.

It's their sandbox.

@uncalled4 Really can't disagree with your perspective. The downvote thing is wildly unpopular, especially the anonymity of it. But I think we now see what it was about: VIPs have been given the ability to see who does the downvoting. It's become an added incentive for people to pay for the privilege of being a VIP.
